new freebie + holiday printable sale

New Freebie

I created this printable thank you note to help simplify the process of getting our thank you notes out this year. I'm offering it free for a limited time! It comes in a ready-to-print .pdf file with 4 notes per page. It comes sized at 4.25" x 5.5", but I've also included an individual .jpg of each color in case you want to resize it. Just click on the preview below to take you to my shop where you can download it.

Old Freebie

This Valentine freebie has been available for awhile, but if you haven't had a chance to download it, you have until the end of December to get it free. Starting in January it will be available in my shop at retail price.

Holiday Printable Sale

Even though Christmas is over, this is the time of year I print out a new set of holiday printables to put in my Christmas binder. I keep these accessible through the year so that if I have a gift idea for someone or find a sale too good to pass up, I can keep track so I don't forget once December comes around again! It's also great to be able to jot ideas down for next year as I come across them (via Pinterest, for example)! I have them on sale in my shop for 25% off for a limited time. This offer is good through the end of January.

One Last Thing

Only two more days to get my mini Contentment kit and printable free! Just click on the link over to the right to sign up for my newsletter, and it's yours! This offer is only good through December... after that the kit will be available for retail price in my shop.

the lilypad byoc

I applied for a guest CT spot when the Lilypad was holding a CT call and was lucky enough to snag a guest spot for December! Today is the release of the BYOC products for December.

Here is a layout I created with the new stuff:
Holiday Essentials by Jenna Desai and Christmas Krafts by Sabrina Dupre Designs

I've also decided to create an album documenting our December this year, so it is a great time to be a guest and be able to use the amazing products the designers have released to help with this project. My album is similar to what Ali Edwards does each year with her Daily December, although I am not going to stress if I don't capture something every day. I'm going to shoot for getting a general documentation of the month as a whole. Here is a look at the start of my album... these are mostly just base pages that I will be adding photos and embellishments to as the month goes on:

Digital Supplies: Brown Paper Packages by Sahlin Studio, Clear Printies No. 2 by The Tattered Pair, and Mark It With A... by Amber Clegg Designs; Traditional Supplies: American Crafts (binder and ribbon), Making Memories (photo corners)

I'll share more pages as I get them done. :)

happy mail

It's new calendar season... at least for me. I discovered this calendar several years ago, and now it is the only calendar I use.

I LOVE it. It goes from September 2011 until December 2012. I love that it starts in September, so I have the entire school year in one calendar. Plus, the squares are lined with plenty of room to write.

Time to get out my favorite multi-colored calendar pens and start filling out this big, blank calendar. I love this time of year.

trifold card

This is a fun card I made that doubles as a gift card holder. This specific one used free printables (the subway art front and the record on he inside) from eighteen25. We put an iTunes gift card in the envelope on the inside and gave it to my daughter's dance teacher at their end-of-year recital. The finished size of the card is the standard 4.25" x 5.5". When unfolded all the way, it measures 12" x 5.5".

Front of card

Inside panel with small envelope to hold gift card

Plenty of room on the inside to write a message

I have also made a birthday and graduation one using more printables from eighteen25. As soon as I get the pictures off my memory card, I'll post them.

teacher gifts

For teacher gifts this year, I used a combination of ideas from eighteen25 and Lisa Storms.

This cute cup idea came from Lisa Storms' blog. I ended up creating my own flag, but Lisa generously offers her flags for you to download.

Here's mine:

I filled the cup with treats, a lemonade packet, and this fun iTunes gift card (sorry the photo is not very clear... I took it in less than ideal light late at night).

The cute record printable came from the eighteen25 blog... I changed the words slightly to better fit the personality of my kids.

Here's a short tutorial on how to put together a quick gift card holder like this one.

1. Seal a small gift enclosure envelope (if you don't have an envelope that size, I have a couple of templates in my shop here and here). Cut enough off the end to make the envelope approximately 3 inches in length.

2. Use a circle punch to punch a half circle notch from the top.

3. Adhere a cute label to the back side of the envelope. Insert gift card. Easy peasy!

artist party

My daughter turned 5 in March, and she decided she wanted an art party. We had so much fun planning this party. She loves rainbow colors, so we went with bright, fun colors for everything. She and all her cute, little friends had a blast. Here are some of the highlights. (I took A LOT of pictures, so this is a pretty image-heavy post.)

The invitations using my Box of Crayons Printable Card.

The traditional birthday wall (banner created with my Pennant Banner Template).

Colorful buntings hung over our "art studio" (aka our kitchen table) where the girls painted.
Bunting created with my
Bunting Template v.2.

We turned our home into an art gallery before the party with our own paintings.

Party sacks, water bottles, plates, and watercolors to add to their sacks to take home.

Aprons for the girls to wear while they paint and take home when they're through.
(Less than $1 each from Oriental Trading
here.)

Water bottle labels with a spot to write names.

Paintbrushes, paints, and jars (for water) all ready to go!

The birthday girl.

Some of the creations of our budding artists.

Pin the nose on the clown. (No party is complete without Pin the ____ on the ____... right?)

Rainbow cupcakes. (Recipe found on Our Best Bites here.)

Brand new set of watercolors for the girls to take home with their aprons (total party favor cost for both the watercolors and apron was less than $2 each!).

Edited to add: Artist Party Printables are now available in my store at ScrapMatters.
